No new icons today, sorry, but what I do have is a few new developments:

+spnlandis a new community much likewhedonlandbut revolving around the characters from the Supernatural universe. You can join one of four teams: teams Dean, Sam, Castiel and Lucifer and you get to compete against the other teams in various challenges. Join up now!

+ I joineddrankmywar's awesome new challenge commversicolors. It's an elite challenge community for people who make icons with crazy colors, ideas, textures, etc. so if you're interested you should go apply!

+ Not so exciting, but I bought a road bike and it's bright red and I'm really anxious to get out and go on some long bike rides!

Anyway, the real point of this post is to take a look back at how my iconing style has changed over the past few years. I noticed a few other icon makers doing this sort of thing and I figured that I might as well try it also, maybe it will even inspire me.

I was checking out the community, theskilltester and I saw this challenge that said to make something just using the paint tool. SO, I was like, this should be fun (dumb, dumb thought) and I started to make this yesterday. It is nowhere near done, but I want to document my process as I go. So far I have Dean's face done and that's about it, but here is my rough outline:

And Sammy is going to be all evil looking and I may give him those yellow eyes that he looks so sexy with. I don't know yet but we'll see. Also, Castiel is going to be grabbing Dean's shoulder and holding him back from Sammy. This is going to take a long time.

I just joined a lovely comm called whedonland whichnowgold started. I'm on Team Firefly (the Browncoats for those in the know)! Here's some information if you're interested in joining:

What is Whedonland about?
It's an interactive community, with a sense of competition. You will be placed in one of the teams : Dollhouse, Serenity, Sunnydale or City of Angels. You will compete against the other teams to defeat the apocolypse first.
To defeat the apocolypse first, your team must have the greatest amount of points on the designated date. You'll learn more about this as we go on.
How do i get points?
A number of ways...you can particpate in the icon communities, complete trivia games, write fic, and other assorted tasks that will come up. Particpation gets you points, winning gets you more points.
Each team will also have in-team activities and fun of their own!
What team will i be in? Can i choose?
Yes and no, teams will be even, so you can have a first choice, but you may get put into any team.
What if i hate my team
You can ask for a transfer, which will be granted on VERY RARE occasions, or you can leave the comm. Once you're in a team, it's preferrable that you stay there!

I watched the first two episodes of Kings yesterday and was blown away. The pretty boys, the story, the cinematography and everything else was fantastic. The acting of the guy who plays David is a little flat but Ian McShane is perfect as the king. I hope the show stays around for a while.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I ran for my school's ASB elections this year (I ran for the tech position) and we had the elections today and I won! I know this isn't as exciting as a new batch of icons but I'm excited about it.

New icons should be coming soon. I have a lot of work to do this week for school but once spring break starts up you should get an update. I hope you all are well!
